Choosing shoes, we first look at its appearance, model, color, upper material, fashionable or not fashionable … However, if when trying on it turns out that the chosen pair of shoes is uncomfortable, we usually do not buy these shoes. The exception may be the shoes for going out, for special occasions, which we do not wear all the time.

What is the concept of “comfortable shoes”? First of all, it is shoes that have a positive impact on the health of your feet and provides a sense of comfort when you wear them.

Unfortunately, there are still people who believe that “beauty requires sacrifice” and are really willing to suffer by choosing uncomfortable shoes. In fact, the modern shoe market offers such a wide range of shoes that are both fashionable and comfortable, that this approach is no longer relevant.

Comfortable shoes means that it is anatomically suitable for your foot and sits “comfortably,” that is tight enough, but not stiff, not “dangling” on the foot, the heel is well fixed, the gait is soft, “springy,” with the natural rolling movement of the foot. Feet in such shoes do not get tired, while walking there are no corns or blisters.

Comfortable shoes are:

  • a shoe that takes into account the anatomy of the foot;
  • The sole is flexible and lightweight, so that the muscles of the foot had the opportunity to “work” while moving;
  • The presence of an insole-supinator, which activates and supports the entire musculoskeletal system, preventing the occurrence or development of flat feet, strengthening the muscles of the foot and ensuring a stable movement. Ideally, the insole should be removable to allow the use of an individual or more anatomically suitable insole.
  • The presence of a heel support that relieves the shock load on the heel. It is on the heel that the first impact occurs when walking;
  • the instep, which provides free space in the toe part and allows the toes to stretch in motion, and not be constrained and compressed.

If a person instinctively tightens the toes when walking, it leads to their deformity, and subsequently to the deformation of the entire foot.

This disturbs the posture and affects the entire musculoskeletal system;

  • High-quality material on the top. Natural leather or modern synthetic material, it is important that the upper material was soft, flexible, breathable, able to adjust over time to your foot, but did not lose shape and did not stretch;
  • the quality of the lining material. If it is natural leather, it should be vegetable tanned in order to avoid harmful substances in the skin. If it is a synthetic material, it must absorb moisture well, so that the feet do not sweat in the shoes and keep them fresh. The shoe’s lining should correspond to its purpose – winter or summer, for tourism, sports and so on, and fulfill its function – warming, moisture-removing, etc.

In general, it should be understood that the foot should not adjust to the foot, but the shoes should have the ability to adjust to the foot. Comfortable shoes provide that opportunity!
