Probably the only thing more important than your own health is your child’s well-being. Improperly chosen shoes are dangerous not only because they cause discomfort to the child: the baby begins to be capricious, and parents sometimes do not even realize that it’s all about the wrong shoes. While the child’s foot is in the formation stage, it is very important that the shoes do not interfere with this process and did not provoke problems such as flat feet.

What should be children’s shoes? A child should not in any case wear shoes “grown-up”, but it should not be too tight. A rigid, moderately ribbed sole and a rigid upper is desirable. Demi-season and winter shoes should fit around the ankle joint, that is, be high.

Specialists advise buying shoes for children made of natural material with a small heel, a fixed heel and a soft bottom, an orthopedic insole, and a wide toe. Children’s orthopedic shoes are necessary for the prevention of deformities of the foot and its proper development, so many doctors recommend buying such shoes for children under 4-5 years.

The main requirements for shoes for children:

  • correctly chosen size (the distance between the big toe and the inner surface of the shoe should be 10-15 mm);
  • natural material;
  • the lightness of the product;
  • rounded, wide toe, not squeezing the toes;
  • a flexible sole and a raised heel;
  • an insole with a supinator;
  • fixation of open shoes at the ankle, closed models should have a rigid elongated back.
